How To Arrive

By car
-    FROM NORTH: highway A2 Milano-Napoli, continue along the highway A3 Napoli-Salerno until the exit Castellamare di Stabia.
-    FROM EAST: highway A16 Bari-Napoli then highway A3 Napoli-Salerno and continue until the exit Castellamare di Stabia.
-    FROM SOUTH: highway A3 Reggio Calabria-Salerno straight to Napoli until the exit Castellamare di Stabia then take the SS 145. Continue along the panoramic way for 23 km, crossing various villages before Sorrento (Vico Equense, Meta, Piano di Sorrento and S.Agnello).
Sorrento is far about  48 km from Naples and the journey takes about 1 hour.


By bus
-    From the area “arrivals” outside the airport of Naples, there’s a bus service of the company “Curreri”. They make daily rides to the Sorrento peninsula, the ticket cost  € 10,00 and the journey takes about 1 hour.
-    From the train station of  Rome Tiburtina  leaves a daily ride to Sorrento.
-    There’s also a daily service bus that leaves from Assisi to Sorrento.


By train
From the train station of Naples leave every 30 min. local trains of “Circumvesuviana” to Sorrento.
The journey takes about 1 hour, you don’t need a reservation. The ticket cost € 4,00.
It’s possible to buy it in one of the ticket points at the train station.

By plane
The Capodichino airport of Naples, situated in the north-east of Naples, is just 50 km from Sorrento. It’s possible to take a Curreri bus to Sorrento or, you can find Taxi service. Prices are between € 70 to € 100.

By boat
From the harbor of Naples Beverello (next to Piazza Municipio) hydrofoils leave  to Sorrento. The journey takes about 40 min. and the ticket cost about € 7,00. You land in the harbor of Sorrento, it’s 500 mt. from the centre. There’s a bus shuttle to the main square.

 


Useful Documents

Before leaving
You need  a valid identification document, not in expiry after 6 months later the arrival’s day.
Before to leave your country, it’s better to do a copy of the most important documents, lead a copy with you and keep it not in the same place of the original documents but in a different one.
So, in case of lost of theft, will be easier temporarily replace the original documents.


UE tourists
Italy is one of the 15 countries that has ratified The Schengen Treaty, according to which, have fallen the borders from 13 European Union member (Italy, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Austria, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden and Finland) plusIceland and Norway. It’s mean that, the citizens of countries that have endorsed this treaty, don’t need to show their document to enter in one of the countries member.
Practically, for these travelers, the border doesn’t exist and it’s not necessary to have a tourist visa.


Extra- Ue tourists

For tourists from some countries extra – ue, in particularly: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland and the United States, don’t need  a tourist Visa if the visit in Italy is not more of 90 days
